Dr. Yannick Alexandre completed his PhD in 2014 at the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy, where he made significant contributions towards our understanding of dendritic cell functions in vivo. He relocated to Melbourne in 2015 and joined the Doherty Institute, where he has been investigating the crosstalk between lymphoid tissue stromal cells and the immune system. Yannick’s recent work uncovered specialised subsets of fibroblasts in the spleen that respond dynamically to acute and chronic infections and construct defined niches for T cell responses. As a recently appointed group leader, Yannick’s work now aims at targeting these fibroblastic niches to improve T cell responses and disease outcomes.
