Dr Sarah Hanieh is a paediatrician currently working as a Senior Research Fellow and Creative Health Communicator in the Global and Indigenous Health Group in the Department of Infectious Diseases. Sarah has worked in maternal and child health for over 20 years with a number of non-governmental, academic and other international institutions including Medecins Sans Frontieres and the World Health Organisation, and has worked in Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Liberia, South America, Ethiopia and Vietnam, as well as Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory. Her current research focuses on nutrition, digital health, and health promotion, with a strong emphasis on improving health literacy through creative strategies, including storytelling, interactive tools, and digital media.
