Prashanth is a clinician scientist, sub-specialised in neuroinfectious diseases and neuroimmunology, and holds an NHMRC Investigator Grant (EL1). He completed his fellowship in Neuroimmunology and Neuroinfectious diseases at UCSF where he also conducted his Ph.D. (through the University of Melbourne) in metagenomic next generation sequencing and host transcriptomics for neuroinflammatory diseases. He then joined as faculty in Neurology Department at UCSF. In 2022 he joined The Doherty Institute and is currently a Laboratory Head in the Department of Infectious Diseases.
