ARC DECRA Fellow

Overview

Dr Zareie completed his PhD at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 2018, after which he took a postdoctoral position at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute in Melbourne, where he developed considerable expertise in T cell antigen recognition and activation, publishing his work as first author in Science and Nature Communications. Pirooz has recently joined the Mackay lab in 2023 as an ARC DECRA Fellow where he is leveraging his expertise in T cell biology to understand the early fate decisions made by T cells during differentiation into various memory T cell subsets, and in particular, tissue resident memory T cells.
