Dr Ouli Xie

Clinician researcher

Overview

Dr Ouli Xie is an infectious diseases physician at Monash Health and a postdoctoral fellow with the Davies-Tong Lab at the Doherty Institute. His research interests include integrating clinical and epidemiological data with large-scale genomics to examine bacterial evolution, particularly cross-species interactions using the human pathogens Streptococcus pyogenes (group A Streptococcus or Strep A) and Streptococcus dysgalactiae subspecies equisimilis (group C/G Streptococcus) as model organisms. He ultimately aims to bring these insights back to the bedside by informing disease prevention measures such as vaccine design.
