Dr Marcela Moreira

Research Officer

Overview

Dr. Marcela Moreira obtained her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Immunology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Brazil, in 2018 before joining the Doherty Institute as a Research Officer in 2019. With a background in immunology, clinical research, transcriptomics, and bioinformatics, she has a broad interest in T cell biology. Her research explores how gene expression shapes T cell function in various immune contexts, with a recent focus on understanding the transcriptomic programming of T cell exhaustion in infection and cancer. Through her work, she aims to uncover key regulatory pathways that could inform strategies to improve immune responses.
