Dr Glen Carter

Group Leader | Senior Research Fellow

Overview

Dr Glen Carter is a molecular microbiologist whose research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, microbiome-mediated colonisation resistance, and the development of novel antimicrobials. He completed his PhD at the University of Nottingham and held postdoctoral positions at Monash University before joining the University of Melbourne. As Senior Project Officer at Doherty Applied Microbial Genomics, he helped integrate genomics into public health microbiology. Now a Group Leader, his research combines molecular microbiology, genomics, and translational approaches to tackle the global threat of multidrug-resistant pathogens.
