Dallas Wilson is the Laboratory Manager at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL). Dallas possesses qualifications in Biological Science and Information Communication Technology (ICT) and has worked with multiple departments across the Doherty Institute. He has over 20 years in experience in ICT and Laboratory Management in Public Health Laboratories and sits on multiple operational groups throughout the Doherty Institute.
Dallas originally worked in the Information Systems department at VIDRL where he was a Level 3 IT Support Officer involved in maintenance and administration of all things ICT including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) in the Public Health Laboratory. He was involved in various ICT systems supporting BAU across VIDRL, WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza and VICNISS and heavily involved in the Public Health response during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
Dallas moved into the VIDRL Laboratory Management position in 2020 and now oversees the Melbourne Health contingent of the Facilities, Engineering, ICT, Compliance and back-of-house teams. He is also manages the 24/7 Laboratory Management On-Call teams working closely with Doherty Engineering Group (DEG).
