Jennifer MacLachlan is an epidemiologist with the WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis at The Doherty Institute, and an Honorary Lecturer with the Department of Medicine, University of Melbourne.

  • Key Achievements
    • Jennifer currently leads the National Viral Hepatitis Mapping Project, which estimates the burden of disease and access to treatment and care for hepatitis B and C across Australia, and guides the measurement of Australia’s strategic response to viral hepatitis. She conducts work in epidemiological analysis of chronic viral hepatitis in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria, and is a collaborator in the Global Burden of Disease Project. She is a member of the board of Hepatitis Victoria.

      Ben’s group focuses on viral hepatitis epidemiological research. The team undertakes a broad range of activities supporting local, national and global control of viral hepatitis, through surveillance, treatment and prevention initiatives, and training and regional capacity building.
