Dr Glen Carter is the Senior Project Officer at the Doherty Centre for Applied Microbial Genomics (DCAMG). In this role, Glen is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Centre, managing both internal and external genomics projects and performing laboratory-based genomics research. Prior to this role, Glen received his PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Nottingham in 2005, and was then a postdoctoral researcher at Monash University for ten years, where his research focussed on the pathogenesis of Clostridium difficile and related pathogens, and on the identification of small molecule inhibitors active against these bacteria.

  • Key Achievements
    • Glen was a Eureka Prize finalist in 2012 and has also been a Chief Investigator on a number of competitive Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, National Health and Medical Research Council, Australian Research Council and ANZ Trustees grants. He has been an invited speaker at both national and international research symposia and conferences and is an author on numerous peer reviewed research papers and book chapters.
