Setting it Straight: Vaccine protection against Long COVID: findings for a large pre-Omicron data set

In this week's Setting in Straight column, Nobel Laureate Professor Peter Doherty continues to look at research and data around the world to find out whether vaccination protects us against the development of Long COVID.

Professor Doherty takes us through the findings of a study conducted in the US which analysed a large data set, captured between Jamuary and December 2021 bu the US Department of Veterans Affairs. The study compares people who contracted COVID after receiving the COVID vaccine (this is called a Breakthrough Infection, or BTI) versus people who tested positive to the virus without prior vaccination; and their experience (or absence of) Long COVID.
