Doherty Institute’s highly cited researchers in 2022

Eight Doherty Institute researchers have been named in a list of the most cited researchers in the world for 2022. 

The prestigious Highly Cited Researchers list, published annually by analytics site Clarivate, identifies scientists who demonstrated significant influence in their field/s through the publication of multiple highly cited papers over the last decade.  

With 6,398 researchers ranking from 70 countries and 51 organisations, the 2022 list includes the following researchers from the Doherty Institute:  
 

This year, researchers from the United States were the most highly cited (38.3%), with Australia placing as the fifth highest country on the list, holding 4.7%. 

Doherty Institute Director Professor Sharon Lewin said the list demonstrates that our work is world leading.    

“The growing number of Doherty-based researchers on the list each year demonstrates that the Institute is a very influential leader in medical research globally,” Professor Lewin said.   

“Our team, here at Doherty, works tirelessly to achieve excellence, so it’s wonderful to have that work recognised by our peers in their own work.”
