Suellen's group fulfills a dual mission of providing a technically first class, reliable diagnostic, reference and public health service to the healthcare system, and being an innovative, adaptable, forward-looking component of the scientific community and a valued collaborator in research projects, not just in Victoria, but nationally and in the region. The group's current major projects include:
Multiplex Measles and Rubella serology assay – Development of a Multiplex Bead Assay for measles and rubella virus serological testing for serosurveillance, which may be useful to identify immunisation gaps in the Western Pacific Region.
Mpox serology collaborative study to determine Mpox IgG antibody using an in-house immunofluorescence assay to compare the antibody response in vaccinated and Mpox infected groups.
SARS-CoV-2 anti-spike quantitation and anti-NCP antibody testing of sera for the BOOST-IC project which is studying the antibody levels in immunocompromised patients post COVID-19 vaccination.
