Overview

"6 out of every 10 infectious diseases in humans are spread from animals." - US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

The One Health concept recognizes that human health is intimately linked to the health of animals and the environment. By monitoring the health of animals and the environments in which they live, a one health approach can provide critical insights into human disease and can potentially reveal early warning signs relating to emergence and evolution of zoonotic infections in humans.
