Overview

The Melbourne Bioresources Facility located at the Doherty Institute houses and cares for small laboratory species to assist researchers studying basic biological function and disease.

Committed to the highest standards in animal care and welfare, the Melbourne Bioresources Platform adheres to best practices and strict regulatory compliance. Oversight is provided by the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity, and the facilities are licensed by Animal Welfare Victoria. A certified veterinarian in laboratory animal medicine leads the healthcare program, ensuring expert guidance and support.

Operating on a fee-for-service basis, the platform is open to all researchers at the University of Melbourne and its partner institutes in the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct.
