Community voices contribute to a rich conversation about research and health. The Doherty Institute’s vision to improve health globally through discovery research and the prevention, treatment and cure of infectious diseases needs ongoing community input to be fully realised.
Our new video series, Questions from the Community, developed in partnership with our Community Advisory Board (CAB), creates a space for conversation between researchers and the public. Hosted by CAB members, the series brings community questions directly to experts in a practical, easy-to-follow Q&A format.
In the first set of videos released today, CAB member Mohamed Mohideen sits down with the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Associate Professor Katherine Gibney, Principal Research Fellow at the Doherty Institute, to explore the latest information on COVID-19 in the community.
Across three short episodes, the videos answer some of the most common questions about COVID-19 raised by the community, including when to test, how to interpret negative results, how antivirals work, who benefits most from vaccination and how to manage rebound symptoms.
This will be an ongoing initiative. If you have a question you would like our Doherty Institute staff to address, please send it to info-cpp@unimelb.edu.au and we will consider it for future videos.
